blah blah blah dfjdslfjadsl;jfa s;ljalf Nestled in beautiful Aspen, Colorado is one of my favorite bookshops, Explore Booksellers. This historic Victorian home was transformed into a bookstore that has been a part of the community for nearly 40 years. The cozy yet elegant atmosphere makes it the perfect stop for relaxing between ski runs and film festivals.
Last fall, while vacationing in Vail Valley, I made it my mission to find all the bookstores in the area. When we made the drive to Aspen to attend a film festival, I spent some time wandering downtown and found this little gem. It was love at first sight.
Explore Bookseller’s large collection of books, cards and journals fill every nook and cranny. The warm ambiance made me want to curl up with a book and stay for hours.
From Self-Help to Literary Fiction, this bookstore has a little bit of everything. Top-sellers decorate the tables. Children’s literature has its own room. Colorfully painted walls, oriental carpeting, and rich, wooden accents add to the charm of this adorable, little place. The most noteworthy feature, however, is the selection of Young Adult fiction displayed beneath the staircase.
Not only do they sell books, but they also serve food at the Pyramid Bistro upstairs. This bistro offers a nutritarian menu filled with healthy, yet delicious meals.
There is always something going on at Explore Booksellers. Their calendar is full of events from poetry readings to workshops to book launches. So if you happen to be visiting the Aspen area, stop by for a bite to eat and a good read.
