Ever notice that college towns seem to have the best bookshops? This is great news for students and book lovers alike! What better place to study and hang out than a cozy bookstore that serves coffee?
Laramie, Wyoming has two amazing little bookshops, and the unique thing about them is they’re connected to each other!
The first shop, Second Story Bookstore, is located on the second floor of an old building, located downtown, right next to the train tracks.
Something about the shop being on the second story makes it feel kind of like a secret, hidden gem (which makes me think of things like Harry Potter! <3 <3 ) With creative displays and beautiful pieces of furniture, it’s kind of like walking into someone’s house…but someone who is crazy for books and antiques.

And here’s the really cool part: you can walk through rooms of books on the second level, and they lead you to an entirely different book store.
After walking through a sitting area filled with books, I can go down another flight of stairs and arrive at Night Heron Books & Coffeehouse. Unlike the Second Story Bookstore, Night Heron is entirely stocked with used books. I found some of my favorites in perfect condition for a really good price! They also serve tea, coffee and treats so you can be comfortable while studying or reading.
Did I mention they have one of those rolling ladders? And look at that ceiling! #homelibrarygoals
Whether you are in search of new books or old, a spot to study or vintage rooms to explore, you will find it at Second Story Bookstore and Night Heron Books.
Where are some of your favorite bookshops? What makes them special to you?
